About Me

Hi! My name is Michele. I am an avid reader and I love GOOD coffee. My classroom is called "The Reading Cafe," and yes, I have a coffee pot always brewing in my room. I am a wife, mother, grandmother, and a 5th grade teacher. I love teaching in the upper grades. I love the interaction and level of conversations you can have with the upper grades. The content is also wonderful to teach at this level.

I have taught math and science for most of my teaching career. However, the last couple of years I became self-contained and I absolutely loved it! This gave me the opportunity to instill my love of reading into my students.

I enjoy teaching outside the box. I have never wanted to do what everyone else was doing. I am always searching for new and interesting ways to teach my students exactly what they need. I do that by following other teacher blogs.

I found these blogs so inspiring, that I wanted to create my own blog to help other teachers who want to also teach outside the box. Hopefully, my blog will help you with ideas that you would like to use in your own classroom. I will try my best to be detailed in my posts about the methods and resources I am using in my classroom. I want this to be a place for teachers to become inspired and understand that we all have ups and downs in our classrooms.

Have a "latte" year,

Michele
